As with many medical facilities and nursing homes, the onset of COVID-19 presented a challenge. How do you maintain a level of safety and still provide patients and residents with a way to visit with friends and loved ones? At Mississippi’s four VA nursing homes, outdoor pavilions on the grounds offer a way for residents to have that all-important interaction with others. The VA Nursing Home in Collins already had a pavilion, and now, thanks to the generous donations received by Friends of Mississippi Veterans, the other three facilities will also have an exterior gathering space.

The VA Nursing Homes in Kosciusko and Oxford are already enjoying their completed pavilions, and construction is underway at the facility in Jackson. When finished, all four homes will have a permanent place for Mississippi veterans at these facilities to interact in a safer environment. We offer our sincere thanks to all who have donated and provided the means for FOMV to pay for the construction of these pavilions.
